The IAAP Certification Program Assistant is an entry-level full-time position that will significantly impact the lives of people with disabilities. The position will work in the Certification Unit of International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), a division of G3ict Professional.
• IAAP is a fully remote organization and will provide laptop, monitors, and peripherals.
• IAAP will begin offering health insurance and retirement options in August 2024 for all full-time employees.
This role will:
• Be focusing on renewals, application data management, and assisting with Continuing Accessibility Education Credits (CAECs).
• Support reporting for IAAP Certification for the IAAP Global Leadership Council, Finance Director, and IAAP Chapters.
• Work with the Certification Program Coordinator, Certification Project Assistant, and Director of Certification to deliver on responsibilities from the framework of the IAAP Certification Committee, the IAAP Strategic Plan for Certification.
IAAP currently offers four professional certifications . These support a standard of knowledge and capacity to apply accessibility job tasks and responsibilities throughout an organization to express and implement a dedicated commitment to accessibility.
• Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
• Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)
• Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA)
• Accessible Document Specialist (ADS)
• Certified Professional in Accessible Built Environments (CPABE)
IAAP Certification is currently building a portal hosted on the Salesforce platform for certificants. This will greatly automate the renewal process. We will transition from manual data management through the end of 2024. In early 2025, we will build an automated API integration from the Salesforce portal to Pearson VUE.
This position can grow into a coordinator-level position.
Responsibilities:
Program Management
• Supports the Certification Director on managing and delivering IAAP Certification data reporting.
• Supports the Certification Director in support of IAAP Certification Committee and Certification Working Groups as directed.
• Provides reports to the Director of Certification as determined by a pre-established reporting schedule (quarterly and monthly).
• Provide weekly updates to the Certification Program Coordinator on Pearson VUE authorizations and accommodations.
• Provides weekly updates to Certification Program Coordinator on scheduling of privately proctored exams, hosted exam events, and any exam pilot programs.
• Provides weekly updates to Certification Project Assistant regarding Continuing Accessibility Education Credits (CAECs).
• Works with staff to provide superior customer service for our certificants, members and non-member alike.
Certification
• Responds to general IAAP Certification Exam, Maintenance, and Renewal frequently asked questions.
• Regularly review IAAP Certification webpages for accuracy and consistency.
• Performs reviews of CPACC applications in support of Certification Program Coordinator
• Produces Pearson VUE data input for exam authorization and accommodations.
• Manages resources and scheduling for privately proctored exams.
• Calendar invites for proctors (contract and staff) and exam candidates
• Zoom room assignments
• Prepares IAAP Exam application rosters each exam session.
• Data entry and data updates for new certificant records.
• Prepares exam session reports for IAAP Finance Director.
• Prepares quarterly chapter reports.
Continuing Accessibility Education Credits & Renewals
• Provides support for the IAAP CAEC programs in support of Certification Project Assistant.
• Performs data entry, data updates, renewal form distribution and receipt-acknowledgments, plus organizes and files renewal status data (This will become largely automated in Salesforce).
• Updates and maintains renewal reporting data: Renewal/attrition and tracking year over year. (This can be based on reporting out of Salesforce in the future.)
• Updates certificant data records with demographic and contact changes (This will become self-service by certificants as part of Salesforce portal).
• Creates IT tickets to update Professional Directory.
• Communicates monthly updates for Credly badges to Certification Program Coordinator.
• Creates and sends Certificates and Letters of Support to new and renewing certificants.
• Monitors and maintains pre-approved CAEC provider lists.
• Actively participates in IAAP Certification Team, IAAP staff meetings and planning sessions.
Accessibility
• Actively learns and supports accessibility in digital, physical spaces, and policy and procedures.
• Supports accessibility in IAAP Certification programs, services, and communications.
• Plans to study for and earn IAAP CPACC within one year of joining team.
Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in association management or member services
• 1-2 years’ experience supporting professional certifications preferred
