Manager, Certification Test Lab
Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace technology, is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our Certification Test Lab in Lenexa, Kansas. In this pivotal role, you will manage a team of skilled technicians and drive the testing and validation efforts for critical aerospace components such as Galley Inserts and Oxygen Systems.
Your Responsibilities:
• Leadership Excellence: Lead and mentor a team of technicians, setting high standards for performance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Technical Prowess: Develop and implement cutting-edge testing protocols and validation standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, particularly DO-160 and engineering testing requirements.
• Operational Mastery: Optimize resource allocations, monitor equipment performance, and track lab performance metrics to ensure efficiency and quality in testing operations.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain to establish and maintain strong relationships with external testing suppliers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and schedule needs.
• Process Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing and implementing policies, standards, and procedures to elevate the effectiveness of engineering and technical work within the lab.
• Cross-functional Engagement: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Certification, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of testing activities and alignment with project goals.
• Documentation and Compliance: Oversee the documentation of test results and maintain comprehensive records to facilitate analysis and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Training and Development: Establish a robust training program to promote best practices across testing facilities and educate personnel on advanced test methodologies.
• Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety and compliance of the facility, as well as the individual compliance of each team member.
Qualifications we prefer:
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in aerospace testing methodologies, including familiarity with DO-160 standards.
• Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with a track record of achieving operational excellence and driving performance metrics.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of aerospace regulatory requirements and their implications on testing and validation processes.
• Collaborative Spirit: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective partnerships across departments and with external suppliers.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of long-term goals and initiatives for the Certification Test Lab.
• Experience with DO-160 aerospace qualification testing.
Qualifications you must have:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
