Job Overview
Are you looking to bring your expertise in cell biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology to a dynamic Analytical Development team? We are seeking a talented Research Associate to join us on a 12-month contract basis. Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in managing starting materials, in-process samples, and final products, in addition to supporting various laboratory functions.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Cryopreserve cell therapy samples from clinical trials and development programs
• Support sample management for routine in-process testing
• Document data in Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) for sample processing and parameters
• Analyze cell count data for samples
• Conduct general lab activities like formulating media, culturing cells, and organizing samples
• Provide training on sample and inventory management systems
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions for sample management
• Other assigned duties as needed
• Occasional weekend support may be required
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field required
• 2+ years of experience in a similar lab role
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques, primary and mammalian cell culture
• Previous experience in biological sample management is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory procedures accurately
• Familiarity with sample collection protocols and shipping requirements
• Knowledge of GxP regulations
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Previous customer service experience is beneficial
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; familiarity with statistical programming languages like R and Python is a plus
