Sodexo Campus Dining is seeking a Catering Director (Catering Manager 3) for our account with Cal State University – San Marcos campus. The Catering Director will oversee management of all catered events. The right candidate will have strong customer service skills, strong organization, and be able to ensure the successful execution of all catering events. Our successful Catering Director will WOW our clients with flawless execution for casual and high-profile events taking place around the campus. The Catering Director will manage all catering and sales operations. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Catering professional to showcase their experience and expertise with small to large events which may include buffet-style and plated meals.
This Catering Director will create elegant and sophisticated catering experiences, providing our clients with one-of-a-kind event and will be responsible for the organization and execution of all catering events, with emphasis on attention to detail.

• identify customer needs and expectations;
• ensure that Sodexo and customer goals are aligned and met;
• educate and develop rapport with clients and promote partnerships;
• promote a customer/client centered culture that strives to exceed customer and client needs;
• coordinate all unit catering initiatives to drive sales growth and track results.
• maintain and improve service level resulting in increased customer satisfaction;
• ensure all HAACP standards are followed; and/or
• demonstrate resourcefulness and quick responsiveness to client and customer requests.

• oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference services. Works with client and customers to design events;
• proven track record of developing strong working relationships with clients/key stakeholders and customers;
• contribute to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of services and the creation of growth opportunities;
• plan projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables, and budget to support client and Sodexo’s strategic plan;
• establish and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the zero-harm mindset.
• supervises employees by delegating, assigning, and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience – 2 years Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
