Business Development Solutions Analyst – Remote
We are seeking a Business Development Solutions Analyst to assist our Business Development team to craft, curate, and apply creative solutions to government procurements. This is a unique role that requires strong attention to detail, ability to interpret a broad range of topics and domains, and a strong sense of curiosity and ingenuity. The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical proficiency, strong communication skills, analytical abilities, problem solving, and project management skills. This role will operate in a fast-paced business development environment and is expected to be able to support multiple work streams simultaneously while delivering exceptional quality and acuity. Responsibilities will include:
• Develop and craft solutions in response to government solicitations.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand complex systems and concepts, translating these into comprehensible solutions.
• Support middle game capture activities by working with the capture team to understand customer needs and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
• Identify and address gaps in capability, working towards continuous improvement and innovation throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
• Assist the Solution Architect with creating and managing a backlog of activities to track multiple work streams using an Agile task management process.
• Understand customer needs and objectives to ensure that the solutions align with the pursuit goals, which may include working in support of capture managers, proposal managers, and proposal teams.
• Analyze systems or processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness for future pursuits. Identify best-in-class solutions and be able to document and curate a library of solutions.
• Create technical documentation and architectural diagrams to provide a clear understanding of the proposed solutions. This may include generating system interface descriptions, Business-Process Models using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), and other technical artifacts as needed.
• Assist in evaluating and selecting the appropriate tools and frameworks that will be used in the development of the solution.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet the needs of all stakeholders involved. This will include meeting with and engaging senior leaders within the company and being able to navigate organizational complexity or ambiguity.
• Oversee the implementation and integration of the solutions to ensure that they are captured in pursuit artifacts such as milestone gate review slides, proposals, whitepapers, other solicitation related materials.
• Participate in color reviews (e.g., Pink, Red, Gold Teams) to assess solution integration.
• Be involved in estimating the outcomes of the solutions, such as staffing rationale and justifications.
• Research subjects and materials as needed to communicate accurately (e.g., develop appropriate questions to conduct solution interviews).
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering, technical, or business field, plus 6-years of related experience.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional development.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in an Agile project/task management framework, to include generating user stories and managing backlog.
• Take responsibility for actions and outcomes and be able to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Take abstract or ambiguous concepts, needs, or gaps and develop clear, accurate, and precise solutions.
• Experience facilitating brainstorming sessions with groups of subject matter experts
• At least 3 years’ experience using facilitation or requirements elicitation techniques, such as Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, or Lean/Six Sigma.
• At least 3 years’ experience working in a remote, geographically dispersed team environment.
• Ability to approach problems creatively, considering the user’s needs and the overall experience.
• Understand how different parts of a system interrelate and how changes in one part affect the whole.
• Ability to gather, understand, and bring together information from disparate sources and stakeholders.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and assignments.
• Adept at taking notes and converting to meaningful communication outputs.
• Frequent travel may be required, around 25%.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Planner, Azure DevOps, and/or Microsoft Visio.
• At least 2-years’ using remote facilitation tools such as MS Whiteboard, Mural, Miro, or analogous.
• Must be a US citizen.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
• Certification(s) in Business Process Modeling, Enterprise Architecture, Systems Engineering, Lean/Six Sigma, Agile, or other related areas is desired.
• Knowledge of defense industry and business development strategies is a plus.
• Experience with General Services Administration (GSA) Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS)pursuits and other large (>$200M) opportunities is a plus.
• Experience working in management consulting with a technology emphasis.
• Experience with modern technology disciplines (e.g., Generative AI, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Data Science, etc.).
