Join BMW Manufacturing as an Equipment Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and enhance automotive manufacturing and test equipment to increase system uptime and reliability. Manage equipment modifications for process improvements, new models, and expansions. Keep all process documentation up-to-date while exhibiting expertise in safe work practices.
Requirements
• An Associate Degree in a technical manufacturing field, plus 2 years of experience in automation/PLC controls with a background in industrial maintenance, mechanical, electronic systems, and PC controls.
OR
• A High school diploma/GED with 2 years of technical maintenance experience, coupled with an additional 2 years of automation/PLC controls experience (totaling 4 years of experience).
Specific Requirements
• Adapt quickly to changes
• Availability for overtime and holiday work
• Successful completion of a technical knowledge assessment and a hands-on electrical troubleshooting test
• Residence within a 75-mile radius of the plant
Qualifications
• Proficiency in the maintenance and troubleshooting of closed-loop servo systems
• Experience in the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sequential processes
• Familiarity with high-level programming languages
• Competence in interfacing controls, processes, and feedback devices
• Experience with Human/Machine interface devices and related software
• Skill in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AC variable frequency drives
• Highly desirable: 3+ years of hands-on experience in three-phase power, pneumatic controls, and Siemens PLC S7
• Night shift position
