As an Associate Staff Engineer, DevOps, you will join a global team with stakeholders in the US, India, Scotland, Denmark, and China. You will play a crucial role in our CI/CT/CD capabilities and collaborate with our IT department to ensure a stable and reliable build environment. Your efforts will enable a unified DevOps ecosystem by integrating diverse capabilities and products into a cohesive CI/CT/CD platform.
You will be involved in the architecture and implementation of a common build architecture pipeline, facilitating the migration of diverse existing build pipelines. This will support various businesses and products, transforming them into a manageable, governable, and scalable pipeline platform. You will need to understand the company’s business objectives and create an extensible build pipeline framework to achieve those goals. This role demands familiarity with industry best practices, emerging technology trends, and the ability to balance security with business-enabling capabilities. This is a newly created position within our expanding, high-performing DevOps common tool chain team.
This role will be based at our HQ in Niles, IL
Responsibilities
• You will create, deploy, and migrate application teams onto a common pipeline ecosystem that supports global product development and deployment.
• You’ll serve as the liaison to various product development teams, being their go-to contact for the tools, infrastructure, and automation needed to take their products to market.
• You’ll be a key contributor to Shure’s CI/CT/CD environment, ensuring its availability, security, and providing support.
• You will collaborate, design, and develop standard capabilities to support build pipelines and processes for managing change across environments, leveraging innovative cloud technologies, DevOps tools, and practices.
• You will contribute to the documentation of our development, staging, and production environments, and develop the required monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
• You’ll liaise with Shure’s IT department, acting as a contact for security and maintenance concepts and requirements.
• You will continuously improve and automate product development tools for the entire software ecosystem at Shure.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a software industry with active roles in software development, SCM, and system administration, ideally in an international work environment.
• Experience in an Agile way of working. SAFe experience a plus.
• Expert knowledge in:
• DevOps (CI/CT/CD)
• Extensive experience in Groovy, including configuration driven pipeline implementations. M ulti-branch pipeline experience a plus.
• Administration experience in the Atlassian Suite of Bitbucket, Jira Confluence, Jfrog Artifactory, and Jenkins, or equivalent tools to support the development lifecycle.
• Infrastructure as Code concepts (CDK – Python, CloudFormation).
• Troubleshooting internal applications.
• Release, change, and configuration management.
• Experience in:
• Experience customizing and integrating tool add-ins.
• Design, implementation, and support of Amazon Web Services and hybrid cloud solutions
• Cloud DevOps (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes) and AWS server monitoring (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) and configuration (Ansible, SystemManager).
• Working with various languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Working with various environments (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android).
• Demonstrated experience in assisting with the establishment of company policies, operational objectives, and work plans that affect immediate operations.
• Excellent communication, verbal, and organizational skills.
• Collaborative engagement in cross-functional, cooperative efforts with team members across divisions.
• Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team.
