Description of Job Responsibilities:
• Meeting customer requirements will be the utmost responsibility for this job. Supporting and improving current quality systems will be the main focus of this job.
• Support & improve our internal audit system. Follow up on open issues and maintain audit records.
• Assist with measuring & collecting data of product characteristics which may lead to reporting on statistical results. Will need to apply Six Sigma concepts using Minitab.
• Support operator training requirements.
• Support and participate our IATF & QSB systems assuring gaps are identified and open issues are closed out.
• Maintain history of data on key processes identifying change point history and retrieval.
• Work professionally with Manufacturing to resolve open customer issues. This will include making recommendations to resolve failures, identifying root cause and prevention driven actions.
• Communication of key issues on a regular basis with a professional approach.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or comparable degree
• Prior experience in a quality engineering role or comparable equivalent is required
• Experience in a foundry environment a plus.
• Understanding of IATF16949, GM QSB, customer specifics as outlined by IATF specifications, Chrysler LPA, and Ford Q1.
• Excellent knowledge of what and how a quality system works.
• Ability to write procedures & work instructions.
• A full and complete understanding of PFMEA’s, control plans, and process flows
• Problem solving skills using A3, 5 why, 8D’s, fishbone, etc.
• Must be well organized and demonstrate above average use of Minitab, Excel, Word, & Power Point.
• Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Prepare and execute internal audits
• Able to work with customers within time constraints.
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Understanding of blue prints.
