The Team
The S&P Global MI Cloud Engineering Shared Services – Platform Engineering team is looking for a skilled DevOps Support – Associate to join our growing team. This position requires the associate to work a flexible shift tailored to coincide with Eastern Standard Time (EST) in the US, ensuring optimal collaboration and support for our operations.
Our team facilitates software development in the 18,000-person Market Intelligence division by managing AWS and vendor-hosted applications including GitLab, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, Mend, SonarQube, TeamCity and Rundeck.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing technical support to our clients, ensuring smooth operation and resolution of any issues that arise, while also leveraging your skills as a Cloud Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS, Terraform, Python, and/or Linux administration, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and have a passion for helping our internal developer teams by providing an exceptional developer experience.

Responsibilities And Impact
• Provide technical support to our clients, ensuring smooth operation and resolution of any issues that arise.
• Manage and troubleshoot issues reported by clients.
• Document all support interactions and resolutions accurately in ServiceNow – mySolutions ticketing system daily.
• Resolve issues in creative and effective ways.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the Developer Experience with our applications such as automating our manual intake process and current BAU work efficiently.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $48,000 to $86,000. The final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with global teams.
• Basic Linux experience for server-side troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for helping both our internal developer teams by providing a great developer experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
• Basic understanding of DevOps engineering and CI/CD practices or experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).
• Basic knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog and Splunk.
• Experience working with ticketing systems and knowledge base tools is a plus.
• Experience in AWS in deployment using Terraform or CloudFormation. AWS certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with source control (Git, GitHub) and feature branching strategies.
