As the Asphalt Quality Control Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing our quality control program, ensuring that all projects meet legal and regulatory requirements while upholding our commitment to excellence.
Your Role: Overseeing Quality Control Program
As the Asphalt Quality Control Manager, you will develop and implement quality control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Your leadership will contribute to the efficient use of company resources and the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
• Ensure all quality control employees’ certifications are up to date and arrange proper certification classes as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all equipment used in quality control activities.
• Conduct and document yearly cross-training and evaluations for all quality control personnel.
• Ensure laboratory facilities comply with all operational requirements.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with inspectors at asphalt plants.
• Perform quality control testing for all materials produced at the plant.
• Provide quality control testing reports to customers as required.
• Monitor raw materials and conduct proactive testing to prevent potential issues.
• Troubleshoot quality control issues at the plant and make necessary adjustments to achieve at least 100% pay factor on all projects.
• Track quality results to ensure maximum pay factor on projects.
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies in the labs for daily operations.
• Report aggregate issues to quarry personnel and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Track upcoming and ongoing projects to ensure timely approval and submission of designs, minimizing project delays.
• Effectively manage a team of QC technicians to ensure all responsibilities are executed efficiently and promptly.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in quality control or a related field, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong technical skills with a deep understanding of quality control processes and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
