Who we are looking for
The team you will be joining is a part of State Street’s Alpha Services team. The Alpha Complex Instrument Architect, Managing Director role is responsible for defining and executing the strategic roadmap for complex instruments on the State Street Alpha Platform and aligned with business and market needs. The role is responsible for leading a team of architects, business analysts, and data analysts to design and implement new product features and capabilities to support the end-to-end processing of derivatives and other complex instruments.
What you will be responsible for
As the lead architect for Alpha Complex Instruments, your responsibilities will include:
• Develop an end-to-end strategy for derivatives and other complex instruments while increasing the competitive strengths of the service.
• Leading product roadmap planning and prioritization while balancing short-term and long-term goals and effectively managing trade-offs.
• Effectively managing a team responsible for product improvement, issue resolution, implementations, data and reporting from front office to back office
• Driving cross-functional collaboration and innovation across technology, integration, product, risk, sales, marketing, compliance, legal, and finance teams
• Building/maintaining close relationships with clients and partners while representing Alpha in client and market facing interactions
• Serving as a product evangelist, both internally and externally, to drive functional awareness, feature adoption, and successful partnerships
• Meet all requirements for the performance planning process including goal setting, regular and immediate feedback and submission of formalized performance appraisals
• Provide support for and effectively communicate broad overall company initiatives and goals to managers and staff within span of control
• Responsible for developing budget and staffing projections
• Assess operational effectiveness and make suggestions to transform how we operate and deliver services to clients.
• Develop ideas for new products and services to expand business opportunities and better meet client needs

Education & Preferred Qualifications
• 15-20+ years in financial services, either in front office, capital markets, trading, operations and/or client service
• Proven change management abilities delivering successful outcomes on transformation initiatives
• Significant understanding of relevant enterprise financial technology solutions
• Experience in developing, implementing derivatives platforms and/or services
• Proven track record in driving innovative products from ideation through design and development (preferably within large, complex organizations), inclusive of commercial considerations
• Experience working with asset management, asset owner, insurance company clients
• Track record in the understanding of governance processes to drive implementation of service or tech changes
• Excellent presentation, communications, collaboration and influencing skills
• Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Up to 25% travel required for both internal management and client purposes.
• MBA and/or CFA are a plus
Salary Range:
$170,000 – $267,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
