The Role / Responsibilities:
Moody’s Analytics Banking Operating Unit is seeking a Solutions Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert, facilitating a pre-sales role of sale of sophisticated commercial loan origination software. The role involves comprehensive mastery of the product’s features, functionalities, and processes, alongside a deep understating of the banking industry and commercial underwriting across various asset classes. This position specifically would place a heavy emphasis on the Agriculture asset class and cover a territory across the Midwest.
The Solutions Specialist will play a crucial role during the sales process, leveraging product demonstrations, proof of concepts and other methods to demonstrate how Moody’s offerings help solve for interconnected risks and aligns with prospective clients’ needs. The ideal candidate for this role should have Commercial Credit Underwriting and/or Commercial Banking experience as a Credit Analyst, Underwriter or Commercial Lender specifically within Commercial & Agriculture Lending. A proactive, self-motivated approach to achieving sales targets is essential, alongside outstanding sales, customer service and communication skills.
• Prepare and deliver pre-sales presentations, showcasing the value and advantages of Moody’s products and services.
• Develop expert-level product and services knowledge, communicating complex information clearly to a non-technical audience through high quality software presentation and pre-sales strategies such as storytelling to articulate the transformative impact of our products on client organizations.
• Collaborating with sales peers to understand customer requirements and deliver results that drive the sales cycle forward and leverage lending or underwriting experience to relate to client’s pain points, goals & objectives.
• Work collaboratively with sales colleagues to comprehend customer requirements and propel the sales process by drawing on lending or underwriting experiences to connect client challenges, objectives and aspirations.
• Gather, analyze, and leverage client feedback to inform sales and marketing strategies aimed at target demographics.
• Support a range of partner teams, including Sales, Product Development, Customer Success, Services & Implementation Teams ensuring seamless transition and clear communication of commitments and expectations.
• Manage and customize demonstration environments, crafting relatable narratives for the value received by Lenders and Underwriters, Business Lines and the C-Suite.
• Address functional and technical inquiries, including RFI’s and RFP’s.
• Aid Sales and Relationship Managers in creating optimal software presentations, aimed at advancing the sale to closure.
• Synthesize market feedback to inform new product features and enhancements.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge, acting as the go-to subject matter expert not only for the product but commercial lending and underwriting industry best practices and regulations as well.
• Meet and exceed sales targets, actively contribute to the sales cycles to achieve objectives within a designated territory. (Midwest including Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, North Dakota, etc)
• Foster a collaborative team environment, building strong relationship with the sales, product and services group, and services groups and embrace the team selling approach. Team first attitude.
• Educate fellow sales team members about the Banking OU’s products and services
• Stay informed on industry developments and regulations, underwriting practices and risk mitigation strategies.
• Participate as a member of the Agriculture Advisory Board for Ag Product Enhancement and new solutions.
Qualifications:
• A minimum 2 years’ experience in a role directly related to commercial lending, such as Commercial Underwriter, Commercial Credit Analyst, Commercial Lender, or a role within Credit Administration at a bank or credit union.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Commercial Loan Origination Software Solutions or systems specifically in the areas of financial statement analysis for borrowers and guarantors, risk rating assessments, analysis of the 5 C’s of Credit and managing the balance between risk and reward of profitable credit origination.
• The ideal candidate would have significant experience specific to the Agriculture sector, specifically in underwriting and analysis related to Grains, Livestock & Dairy Producers.
• Experience across various lending sectors including Commercial Real Estate, Commercial & Industrial, Agriculture, and Small Business Lending.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration, or similar field preferred
• Exceptional public speaking & presentation skills, with the ability to communicate the value and transformative potential of our solutions clearly and persuasively.
• A strategic thinker with a focus on analytics and operations, capable of identifying market opportunities.
• The capacity to work autonomously under minimal supervision
• Previous experience as a banking/lending systems administrator is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment to meet sales targets and contributing the sales cycle effectively.
• Ability to comprehend and apply abstract concepts, prioritize tasks efficiently and exhibit a commitment to continuous learning.
• A productive and cooperative approach to working in a structured team sales environment
• Proficiency with any Moody’s Analytics Lending or Risk & Finance solutions or similar platforms is a big bonus that would reduce the learning curve.
• Fluency in English is required
• The ideal candidate will exhibit a readiness to undertake travel for approximately 30-50 of their time to effectively cover their assigned territories, which may be subject to annual adjustments.
• Initially, the primary focus will be on servicing community banks and credit unions across the Midwest, with notable emphasis on supporting agriculture lending activities, in addition to the conventional commercial, industrial and income-producing real estate loan operations.
• Given the geographic focus and need to align with the operational hours of our clients and prospects, candidates situation near the designated territory, preferably within the Mountain and Central Time Zones, will be considered the most desirable.
Annual base salary gross: [[$82k to [[$107k. Applicable to Lithuania candidates: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moody’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of Moody’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include the following: Medical, Personal Accident, Life Insurance and Time Off.
