Admission Associate for Middle and Upper School
Role Overview
Friends School of Baltimore a Quaker, co-educational, college preparatory school, Pre-K through Grade 12, enrolling 800 students, seeks an Admission Associate to begin in July 2024. Reporting directly to the Sr. Associate Director of Admission and Financial Aid, this position will work specifically with prospective Middle and Upper School families. This position is a full-time 11-month position.
Context and Philosophy
Friends School of Baltimore has an opening for an Admission Associate to support our work with prospective families through all aspects of the admission process. The person in this position will assist the Senior Director of Admission primarily in working with prospective Middle and Upper School families. This position will be involved in scheduling and greeting visitors, tours of campus, completing admission files, and meeting with prospective students. Additionally, this position will be part of all admission events and will work directly with our student ambassadors. As part of their work, the Admission Associate will be encouraged to engage with our current student body as a coach or club advisor.
Responsibilities
• Schedule and confirm all parent and student interviews as well as shadow days for Middle and Upper School visitors.
• Assist the Senior Associate Director of Admission in interviewing student applicants
• Serve as point of contact for all Middle and Upper School student visitors, including greeting guests, pairing visitors with their student hosts, providing details for the visit, and checking in throughout the visit.
• Schedule and work with student ambassadors to host visitors, greet prospective families and serve as student panelists at various admission events on and off campus.
• Data entry for inquiries, interviews, and completion of admission files.
• Assist/lead campus tours in Middle and Upper Schools
• Assist with admission assessments and testing
• Serve on both the Middle and Upper School Admission Committees and other various committees across campus
• Participate in admission events including open houses, school fairs and recruitment, student-to-student events, retention, and the annual admission welcome celebration
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required; experience in admission or school life work desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility and team player
• Proficiency with Excel and data analysis
• A genuine desire to be a part of the Friends community
• Fluency in cultural competency and inclusive practices
• Support of Quaker education and inclusive community-building efforts
