Description
We are currently in search of a Sr. Cost Accountant for a 2–3-month engagement for a manufacturing client in the south metro. This position is required to be 100% onsite. The ideal candidate will be expected to execute and manage annual costing and inventory activities while maintaining inventory standard costs in our ERP system.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Executing and managing annual costing and inventory activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Maintaining inventory standard costs in the ERP system, routinely examining for any costing issues, determining the root cause and swiftly implementing corrective actions as needed
Executing monthly and quarterly closing activities which include movements in standard cost revaluation account, ensuring that monthly entries are recorded properly. Identifying and resolving any non-cost revaluation entries
Overseeing and providing support for quarterly excess and obsolete inventory calculations
Actively participating in the execution and reconciliation of annual physical inventory, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Balancing and reconciling sub-ledgers to general ledgers, rectifying any discrepancies
Collaborating with business partners and providing support for any external audits related to costing
Ensuring and maintaining appropriate internal controls, advising on enhancements when necessary
Participating in ad-hoc tasks and projects as required by management
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree in Accounting or a related field
Prior experience in cost accounting
Familiarity with midsize to large ERP Systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality

Requirements
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as a cost accountant, preferably in a senior role.
• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
