Lead Pharmacy Technician – Hayward, CA
Compensation: $25 – $30 Hourly
: Nexus HR is looking for a Lead Pharmacy Technician with strong experience working in a fast-paced Long-term care pharmacy. Must have an active California Board of Pharmacy Technician’s License.
Client-highlighted qualifications – The candidate should have experience working in a Retail or Closed-door pharmacy and an active Pharmacy Technician license in California.
Duties And Responsibilities
The Lead Pharmacy Technician plays a dual role in a pharmacy setting, combining traditional pharmacy technician duties with managerial responsibilities. This requires a blend of technical proficiency, leadership capabilities, and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy and high-quality patient care.
• Assist in hiring, training, and supervising pharmacy staff, including other pharmacy technicians and clerks.
• Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage for all pharmacy operations.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
• Implement and monitor compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Address operational issues promptly to maintain smooth functioning of the pharmacy.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of medications and supplies.
• Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and manage costs effectively.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Qualifications
• 3 years of Pharmacy Technician or comparable work experience
• At least 2 years of pharmacy management or supervisory experience or any relevant roles
• Active Pharmacy Technician license in California
• Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Above-average typing skills.
• Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
• Able to function in a close team environment.
• Able to meet specified production and quality standards.
• Able to identify and recognize commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration.
• Able to identify common Latin symbols in prescriptions.
• Able to calculate dosage and days supply.
• Possess high levels of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, and customer focus
