Job Summary
As the Corporate Relations Director, you will lead and manage company’s stakeholder engagement and communication strategies for our operations in Madagascar. This high-impact role involves ensuring strong relationships with the government, local communities, NGOs, and industry stakeholders, with a focus on contributing to the sustainable development of the region.
You will be based in Fort Dauphin, providing strategic direction to foster positive relations while upholding the company’s reputation and social license to operate.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all external relations activities in Madagascar, including government relations, media engagement, and community outreach.
• Develop and implement communication strategies to promote company’s brand and initiatives in the region.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key local and national stakeholders.
• Act as a primary spokesperson, managing sensitive issues and ensuring transparent, consistent messaging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between corporate communications and project goals.
• Monitor political, economic, and social developments in Madagascar, providing insights to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and corporate policies, particularly around sustainable development and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
Qualifications
• Must be a national of Madagascar with strong ties to local communities.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate relations, public affairs, or government relations, ideally within the extractive industry.
• Proven experience in managing stakeholder relations in complex environments, with a focus on corporate social responsibility.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate sensitive political and social issues while maintaining corporate integrity.
• Fluent in Malagasy and French; English proficiency is preferred.
