The Manufacturing Engineer will provide operations engineering support to the Circuit Card Assembly Factory located in Andover, MA. A primary focus of the engineer will be to support the Operation of SMT Process lines, which includes automated and programable equipment, for multiple products.
What You Will Do
• Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce cycle time and prevent defects in production.
• Establish base line metrics.
• Extract data for analysis.
• Oversee projects using risk management techniques
• Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation.
• Program computer and machines for manufacturing automation.
• Disposition discrepant hardware.
• Lead root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence.
• Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology.
• Conduct safety and ergonomic assessments.
• Interact with senior personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and suppliers.
• Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics and reductions in cost and/or defects.
• Work 2nd shift which includes a shift differential.
Qualifications You Must Have
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
• Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3 & IPC-CC-830.
• Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principals.
• Experience supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus).
• Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development).
• Experience supporting SMT Screen Printers, Solder Paste Inspection Machines, SMT Adhesive Placement Machines, SMT Component Placement Machines, Automated Optical inspection Machines, Reflow Ovens, X-Ray Inspection Equipment and/or touch up operations.
• Experience applying Six Sigma principles and techniques.
• Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools

• Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD – 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
