DSA has an opening for a Cyber Defensive Operations Security Engineer. The engineer will help drive customer service and digital modernization objectives for the intelligence analysis teams supporting Army G-2. These services and solutions will have a direct impact on the speed and scale of intelligence delivery to the warfighter.

The Cyber Defensive Operations Security Engineer will play a critical role in the maintenance, modernization, and further development of continuous monitoring plans and actions for an Army intelligence system. The Security Specialist will utilize various methods to identify and track potential threat vectors and security risks for the program, and will work with developers, engineers, and operations personnel to develop and implement fixes and mitigations for these issues. The Security Specialist will utilize any existing security tools as well as be able to develop custom tools/scripts to fit specific security needs of the programs’ cloud environment. Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance and be in Charlottesville, VA or surrounding area.
Required Qualifications:
• BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience may be substituted for degree.
• TS/SCI Clearance
• DOD 8140 (8570) IAM or IAT Level II Certification
• Eight years of IT related experience overall
• Five years of experience working in a cyber security role
• Experience working with common security tools and DevSecOps methodologies (Nessus, HP Fortify, GuardDuty, Ncat, Prisma Cloud Compute, clair, ect)
• Familiarity with relevant DOD security standards
• Strong working knowledge of RHEL, networks, web applications, and cloud
• Ability to develop and brief material in front of groups of 10+ people.
Desired Qualifications:
• CISSP
• Familiarity with Agile development practices
• Experience with scripting and task automation (python, PowerShell, Perl, etc.)
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or other relevant cloud security certifications
• Experience assessing and developing the architecture for common security tools for enterprise environments.
