Overview

The Manager, IT Capability Improvement will lead the continuous improvement of the information technology organization and its capabilities used to plan, build, deliver and run technology solutions for the business, and manage IT as a business function. The Manager will lead a team of capability improvement resources and applicable vendors to assess IT capability maturity, identify gaps to be improved, establish improvement roadmaps, transform IT capabilities, and transition the support of those improvements to a steady state.

The Manager will also lead solution development and support resources to automate capability improvements used by the information technology function. This includes the ServiceNow platform.
Core Responsibilities
• Research industry best practices to establish and maintain an IT capability reference model (business model of IT).
• Research innovations in IT industry to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assesses capability maturity of IT vs industry best practices to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Aligns and prioritizes improvement opportunities which will deliver more value in support of KofC’s business and technology strategies.
• Develops and maintains the IT capability improvement roadmap and reports on progress against target maturity levels.
• Supports business case development of identified improvements.
• Manages forum of continuous improvement with capability owners and key practitioners.
• Manages execution of IT transformation program (transforming IT).
• Utilizes and maintains holistic transformation approach to deliver improvements.
• Sets up and leads improvement projects.
• Manages applicable systems integrators in support of the transformation program.
• Collaborates with key delivery teams in other areas of ITS to deliver improvements.
Skills Qualifications
• Industry Knowledge – know what good looks like (ITIL, IT4IT, TOGAF, SAFe, PM-BoK, BA-BoK, BPMN, etc.)
• Industry Applied Science – translate IT frameworks into practical models.
• IT Capability Maturity – Assess IT based on maturity frameworks (IVI – IT CMF, SEI – CMMI, DMM, TMMI, or equivalents).
• Quality Assurance – utilize LEAN 6-sigma techniques to measure & improve of IT
• Program & Project Management – manage complex improvement initiatives
• IT Operating Models – understands all components of operating model implicated and how they impact one another (services, people, functions, governance, process, technology, culture, commercials, measures, etc.)
• Transformation approaches – utilizing artifact-based approaches to deliver outcomes and varying techniques to deliver faster with improved quality (Kanban, Scrum, Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall, etc.)
• Significant experience with ServiceNow deployment and operations.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills – including the ability to author process flows, requirements specifications and create objective driven PowerPoint presentations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS office tools including Teams/SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Education

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field AND minimum eight years demonstrated experience in IT Service Management and Transformation experienc.

Preferred:
• Masters degree in Computer Information Systems or related field AND minimum of ten years demonstrated experience in IT Service Management and Transformation experience
Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location. At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $104,500-172,400.
Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday. Authorization to work in the United States is required.
