POSITION: Instructor in Sport Management. Anticipated start date: August 1, 2025 with the potential to begin in January 2025. The appointment is a 10-month, 3 year contract with the opportunity of renewal. QUALIFICATIONS:
Required – Earned masters in sport management, coaching or relevant related field by the time of appointment. Experience in the sport industry or related field; ability to develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national sport agencies and experiential learning activities.
Preferred – Earned doctorate in Sport Management or relevant related field. Experience and/or interest in teaching coaching and sport management topics; ability to develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national sport agencies; evidence of the ability to teach online courses and experiential learning activities and desire to facilitate co-curricular activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach five (5) courses in the Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport department each semester. Duties also include course development and assessment and establishing linkages with practitioners in appropriate sport organizations. Candidates must provide service to the program. There may be opportunities to teach in the summer.

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport is housed in the College of Health and Human Services. The Department offers: Bachelors and Masters degrees with programs/concentrations/minors/certificates in Coaching, Kinesiology, Sport Management, and Strength and Conditioning. There are five sport management faculty teaching approximately 210 students in the graduate and undergraduate sport management programs.
