Job Summary
Provide leadership of strategic sourcing team and corresponding activities. Leverage supply base to deliver maximum benefit to the organization in the form of best quality, service and value. In partnership with organizational leadership, evaluate new and existing supplier relationships and award business appropriate to organizational fit. Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of sourcing professionals to ensure the team’s resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. Responsible for supplier contract adherence and supplier relationship management.
Essential Functions
• Formulate and implement processes and people development strategy to build a best-in-class sourcing function.
• In alignment with Corewell Health System strategy, develop and lead cross functional teams to create and execute multi-year strategic plans to support direct and indirect spend categories, work in partnership with operational, physician and executive leadership.
• Involved in high level negotiations and subsequently ensures the monitoring and enforcement of supplier contracts and agreements. Authority to drive negotiation with large scale, high impact suppliers.
• Develops and benchmarks best practices amongst suppliers. Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans including market assessments, supplier’s financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, ethics etc.
• Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers. Utilize market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes. Serves as an expert/consultant for analysis of market conditions and interpretation of trends.
• Manage and develop continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as cost.
• Create and manage a supplier management culture including the utilization of supplier scorecards and business reviews for key suppliers. Create and implement enterprise-wide metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities.
• Create new, innovative, relationships and strategies with key suppliers that will prepare Corewell Health for the next decade.

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
• 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in progressive business experience in business operations, finance, contracting or other related disciplines.
Preferred
• Master’s Degree
• 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities with knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base.
• 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities with knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies.
• 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities building new and innovative relationships and strategies with key suppliers.
• 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities leading professional-level teams.
• 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities with knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration.
• 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities with experience operating in a highly regulated industry. Medical Device industry sourcing and supplier management experience preferred.
• Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, AHRMM, and/or CSCMP.
