Description:The Egyptian Air Force currently has two Unit Level Trainer (ULT) systems in support of F-16 pilot training in the Block 60 configuration. Each ULT has a high-fidelity cockpit, and Instructor Operator Station (IOS), and a visual display system. This role will be located at Cairo West Air Base, Egypt.Individual duties and responsibilities include: The Field Engineer has a primary function to perform the maintenance and repair activities of the ULTs. Normal work schedule is a flex 40 hour week Sunday through Thursday. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Perform the ULT training tasks such as simulator operation and troubleshooting problems during training missions.- Perform as necessary organizational and limited intermediate level maintenance on the ULT support equipment- Assist, and perform as required preventative maintenance, installation tasks, operational and general maintenance, inspection and repair of the ULTs and support equipment.- Perform installation and checkout of modification or retrofit kits of the devices.- Act as the liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems and issues can quickly be communicated back to an engineering team via Field Service Reports (FSR) for review and resolution. – Demonstrate good safety and quality assurance practices.- Ensure ULTs are properly configured and available to support scheduled training on specified dates and times.Site Administration:- Comply with all applicable and appropriate corporate policies and procedures.-Maintain contractor work areas in a neat and orderly manner.- Interact/coordinate with Egyptian personnel on a daily/weekly basis to ensure technical training quality expectations are met. – Review daily pre- and post- operational reports, parts requests, maintenance action forms, issue forms, parts receipts, failure reports, and other administrative reports.Basic Qualifications:- Current SECRET security clearance.- Must be able to perform with minimum guidance and direction.- Five years of electronic technical experience in a fast-paced simulator environment- Experience with the installation and/or maintenance of large computer systems and networks.- Experience with flight simulators and/or large multi-computer simulation system maintenance.- Must be capable of establishing and maintaining courteous professional relationship with all military and civilian personnel related to this program.- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.Desired Skills:- Familiar with LCD and LED projection systems and Integrated Display Systems.- Experience with networked simulators employing DIS or HLA.- Network+ or Security+ certifications.- 5-7 years’ experience with a weapons system, avionics system, or simulation training system.
