Lead Windows Graphics KMD Software Architect
THE ROLE:
Windows graphics kernel mode driver (KMD) architect
THE PERSON:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and upbeat leader to join our team to help us deliver leading-edge GPU solutions. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical decisions, roadmap, and future products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Engage and lead graphics SW architecture and development from concept to production.
• Influence the hardware architecture with concrete data and feedback from the GPU programming research work.
• Drive innovation by staying current with the latest advancements in GPU industry standards and trends.
• Define, design, and scope GPU software architecture which brings the best out of the GPU HW architecture for the final product launch.
• Help define winning GPU IP solution by engaging in HW/SW co-design with GPU HW architecture.
• Participate in GPU software development in design, mentorship, and problem solving needed to ship industry leading solutions.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• In depth experience and knowledge in GPU driver development, GPU Graphics APIs, GPU Compute, and ISV enablement.
• Understand GPU graphics rendering with firsthand experience in programming models, feature development, and interactions with hardware and software architects to find solutions for the current and future GPU products.
• Deep knowledge of GPU technologies, ASIC programming models, system-wide optimization technologies and approaches, and SW design patterns.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with performance optimization techniques for high-throughput computing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to engage and guide technical teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., master’s or Ph.D.) is preferred.
At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
