Hope Floats Foundation is a fully-remote organization with passionate community advocates all across the country. We do whatever it takes to support our partners and get more kids in the pool! We have increased our number of scholarships every year since we started – and in 2023, we’ve already helped a record number of children and families gain the skills they need to be safer in and around the water.,
Hope Floats Foundation is a nonprofit organization that partners with swim schools across the United States to administer local scholarship funds for children who otherwise could not afford it to participate in swimming lessons. Drowning is a leading cause of death in children, but participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by to 88%, and our mission is to impact those numbers!
Hope Floats is seeking one or more volunteer interns (ideal for a motivated high school student, a college or graduate student looking to fulfill academic internship requirements, or someone looking to gain experience in the nonprofit industry) to assist the Director with various fundraising, strategic, and administrative tasks.
Hope Floats Interns can complete tasks remotely on their own schedule, with Zoom meeting check-ins with staff, or Interns who are local to Greater Hartford, CT can meet in person. Virtual interns can be located anywhere IN the United States.
A sample list of intern tasks could include (not a definite or exhaustive list)
• organizing information for grant applications
• market research for corporate sponsors
• compiling fundraising guides for partners
• planning events and awareness campaigns
• collaborating with other volunteers
We are happy to work together to ensure flexible scheduling and a positive volunteer experience. We can provide nonprofit-specific orientation and training about grantwriting, fundraising, etc. but the intern should already posses reasonable abilities to do independent research, input data in spreadsheets, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email director@hopefloats.foundation and tell us a little bit about yourself, why you are interested in this opportunity and what you hope to gain from it, and what your availability is scheduling-wise.
