Position Summary
Manage day-to-day operations of the TV Studio area for Tisch School of the Arts. Develop and implement operational and creative policies and practices. Design and conduct technical workshops and seminars; ensure training is consistent with established industry and School curricular standards and related film technologies. Advise students on productions; serve as resource expert, recommending production options to students and resolving complex problems. Supervise technical and student employee staff.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Television
Required Experience:2+ years film or video production facility operations management, budget administration, and staff supervision experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:3+ years Experience in an academic and/or production environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Ability to communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels and use problem-solving and negotiating skills. Passion for, understanding of, and commitment to inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity, and accessibility. Proficiency with a wide range of production technologies, including interior and exterior sets, Sony DXC D35WS, Echolab MVS 5 video switcher, Character Generator by Pinnacle System Deko 550, Sony Betacam SP UVW1800 as a recorder. For Playback: Betacam Sp, DVD and VHS Mackie 48X8X2 Audio mixing board, Microphones: Sennheiser ME66, ME44, MKH-416, Sony ECM 55 Lavalier, AKG 414 K-Tek microphone boom, Audio compact disc player and audiocassette playback. For lighting: Desisti pole operated 1k Fresnel, Source four Ellipsoidal, Corlortran Scoops, Mole Richardson 2k Soft light, Colortran Status 48 lighting console, Blue Screen for Chromakeying, Teleprompter, Assortment of rolling light stands, flicker box, Arri 300W, and Arri 600W lights. Ability to direct, evaluate, and implement a variety of operations and activities.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of current and emerging technologies (e.g., digital and analog film and television technologies).

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $65,925.00 to USD $80,575.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
