AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire a Fab Process Engineering Technician, who will aid in AWS’s effort to quantum computing services to its worldwide customer base. Responsibilities include executing wafer processing steps, operating fabrication and packaging tools, performing inline metrology and keeping documentation. The candidate will perform hands on work in cleanroom environment, contributing to wafer production and internal process development by executing fabrication and packaging steps.
The role may include off hours work including evenings, nights and weekends.

A day in the life
The candidate will spend most of the day in a cleanroom environment, in a protective suit performing hands-on fabrication tasks using semiconductor fab equipment. The candidate will carry out wafer processing steps for quantum computing product chips, as well as for development projects.
About The Team
The fabrication team within AWS Center for Quantum computing is responsible for delivering quantum computing product chips and implementing groundbreaking process innovations.

Basic Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in, or completed within the last 12 months, a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
• Internship, coursework, or experience in semiconductor fabrication
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands on experience within an industrial or academic fabrication cleanroom facility.
• Experience in operating various fabrication tools, handling wafers and diced samples, manual wet chemical processing, and MES system.
• Problem solving, analytical, writing and communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
