Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to elect methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires education or experience with the following technologies or skills:
• Logic and circuit design;
• CMOS transistor design;
• Verilog, VHDL, or System Verilog;
• Python, Perl, C, or C++;
• CPU architecture, GPU architecture, or SOC architecture;
• Machine-Learning; and
• LTspice.
Employer will accept skills gained in furtherance of graduate-level degree via coursework, projects, internships, research, and/or theses. Skills may be gained concurrently.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
