Job Description Summary:
• Directs and controls the administration of non-litigated liability claims against or by our Company pursuant to applicable laws.
Essential Functions:
• Oversee third party administrator in the investigation, identification, and evaluation of coverage, liability, and damages exposure to the Company associated with assigned property damage and bodily injury claims and decide the appropriate course of action to best protect our companies from undue loss.
• Work with the third-party administrator to establish proper financial reserves on assigned claims and identify and evaluate subrogation and recovery rights and sources, pursuing recovery when appropriate.
• Negotiate and resolve claims within the company’s deductible with settlement authority up to $100,000 or with additional authority secured from management when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:
• Experience with bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Experience managing Third Party Administrators (TPAs).
Work Location/Domicile:
• This position may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories. Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree/equivalent.
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Willingness to learn concepts pertaining to contract, tort, damages, agency, subrogation, contribution/indemnity, and other applicable/related law. Ability to direct and control work of third-party administrators. Excellent human relations, oral and written communication, analytical, problem solving, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills. PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
