Wayne State University, founded in 1868, is located in Detroit, Michigan. A NCAA Division II school, WSU competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. With an enrollment of over 24,000 students, Wayne State University Warriors field 17 teams: baseball, m/w basketball, m/w cross country, m/w fencing, football, m/w golf, softball, m/w swimming and diving, m/w tennis, women’s track & field, and women’s volleyball. AT will complete approximately 1720 hours of athletic training services at WSU, assigned to football and one additional sport (TBD). Additional hours outside of the school for Henry Ford Health may be assigned. The AT will effectively communicate with the other athletic trainers at Wayne State University while serving as a liaison for their athletic department to Henry Ford Health.
Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and HFHS sites.

• Board of Certification, Inc. certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer (AT) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs required or obtained prior to date of hire.
• Additional certifications and credentials obtained in health care (i.e. CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT) preferred.
